Snaps and some information of the device leaks online, but will it make its way to our shores?

News of the Oppo U3 has been flooding our site over the past few weeks, with sources speculating the device will be unveiled in China on 14 January. Now, the target is on another of the vendor’s smartphone that has leaked online.

Rumour has it that Oppo’s creating another smartphone, currently named Oppo R1C, and it’s one that will presumably catch the eye of many. The device is said to pack a sapphire crystal glass rear – meaning that it will be able to withstand all kinds of torture and still look good.

Now, of course, this has still yet to be confirmed by Oppo, but the leak got us all excited. If you’ve been paying attention to what’s been going around the Internet about sapphire glass, you can try bending, scratching or even stabbing it – it’ll still be unscathed.

OTHER FEATURES…

As for its other features, the Oppo R1C is said to boast a 5in 720p display, powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 615 chipset with an octa-core Cortex-A53 processor, and include 2GB of RAM. It’s also said to show off a 13MP rear snapper and 5MP front camera, along with 16GB of internal storage (that can be expanded to 128GB via microSD) and LTE connectivity.

If the purported device has got you just as excited as it’s got us, don’t worry – sources claim you don’t have to wait too long before it gets unveiled. It’s rumoured to go official on 14 January, alongside the Oppo U3.

If the leak holds any truth, January seems to be shaping up to be the month of Chinese mobile phone launches, but we’re not complaining one bit. Bring them on.
