Lumary WiFi Curtain Lights Review – A Blend of Technology and Festivity

By Tuan Do

The holiday season is a great time for us to start decoration all around the house. Among many lighting options available, the Lumary WiFi Curtain Lights stand out with its smart features and aesthetic appeal. Whether you want to deck out your living room, create a magical outdoor ambiance, or simply elevate any space, these curtain lights could be a great option.

Disclosure: We received the lights as a courtesy for review purposes. However, the review is intended to provide honest, unbiased insights about the product, based on personal experiences and observations.

Installation

Setting up the Lumary Curtain Lights is easy but it might take some time as you will need to install all the hooks and look for a place to hang them. Since I installed the lights outdoors, I had to use a steel cable on my front door to keep the lights straight.

Once this is done, the lights are ready to use. You can use the remote control to switch among all existing lighting effects but the Lumary app has more customizations. I also prefer the app since it has better range and I could schedule the lights to turn on/off automatically. For those who enjoy personalizing their decor, the DIY feature is a game-changer. The app allows you to draw custom designs, upload images, or even integrate GIFs, bringing your unique vision to life. This feature is perfect for creating tailored decorations for birthdays, holidays, or just everyday enjoyment.

Design and Build

The lights measure 6.9 x 5 feet and feature 540 LED beads arranged in a dense 20 x 27 grid. This high pixel density ensures animations are smooth and vivid, offering a visually captivating experience. The lights can connect up to 4 sets, allowing you to extend the coverage for larger spaces or more elaborate displays.

Designed with durability in mind, the curtain lights are rated IP65 waterproof, making them suitable for year-round use, including outdoor setups. They can withstand temperatures ranging from -4°F to 113°F, so you would have no problem during both summer barbecues and winter festivities. However, it’s important to note that while the lights themselves are waterproof, the control box is not, and should be placed in a dry area for optimal performance.

Performance

The Lumary Curtain Lights excel in delivering a consistent and dazzling performance. The animations are smooth, and the colors are rich and vibrant. The adjustable settings allow for subtle, understated lighting when needed, as well as bold, dynamic displays for celebrations. The lights maintain their brightness and responsiveness across different modes and patterns.

I’ve used the Lumary WiFi Curtain Lights through freezing temperatures, rain, and snow, and they’ve performed flawlessly without any issues so far. The lights have proven to be durable and weather-resistant, handling harsh winter conditions with ease. However, one challenge I’ve faced is that strong winds can cause the light strings to tangle, so I have to untangle them almost every day. To address this, I recommend securing the other end of the strings to something sturdy, which can help keep them in place and prevent tangling.

Verdict

The Lumary WiFi Curtain Lights are an interesting choice to any home or event decor. They combine practical features with creative possibilities. I like their Christmas and firework lighting effects which have received a lot of compliments. The only downside is that the price tag of around $70 is a bit expensive.
