The Nexus 7 FHD is still the best 7-inch tablet this year and it gains a huge customer base thanks to its low price. That explains why there have been a numerous choices of cases for this tablet.
We reviewed the official travel cover earlier but that is a poorly-made case. The case I’m going to review today is another official case from Asus, the official premium cover for Nexus 7 2013. Let’s see if this one is better.

Design and Protection
Actually this is a well-made case. The exterior is quite tough as it is made of polyurethane, a very durable and flexible material while the interior is covered with microfiber to clean and protect the screen. The case covers all corners of your Nexus 7, and the premium materials could protect your tablet fairly well without making it thicker. However, the problem is that front cover will not stick to your screen, so in case you drop this tablet, your screen can still be damaged.
The premium cover sports a folding stand feature, which is similar to the smart cover. That means you can fold the front cover and turn it into a stand for your tablet. This is a very convenient feature as it helps you easily angle the tablet in any position, I prefer this mechanism than the one on SD Tabletwear Frameless Case. Unfortunately, the case doesn’t come with built-in magnet to automatically turn on/off your tablet when you open/close its front cover.
The official premium case for Nexus 7 2013 is available on Gearzap for £34.99. This undoubtedly will be the best case if it comes with magnet in its front cover. If you don’t like a magnet closing case, this is your choice.

The video stand is a fail. it doesn’t hold the tablet for more than a minute and mine is a premium official one bought from a high-street store. If you ignore the video stand problem and the missing on/off magnet on the cover then yes this is undoubtedly the best case.
