LG Nexus 5 goes official, runs Android 4.4 KitKat

By Guest Authors

Google has just announced the new LG Nexus 5. It’s the second Nexus device to be manufacturer by LG for Google that packs some exciting features and delivers a robust hardware that goes straight into the line of high end smartphones market.

Available in both black and white color, Nexus 5 needs nothing to prove in order to make its place in the consumer market.

LG Nexus 5 Specs

LG Nexus 5 has much to offer its users, a peace of mind and the taste of the new Android 4.4 KitKat. Running a quadcore Snapdragon processor with 5 inch full HD display, LG Nexus 5 is a power horse. Detailed specs of the Nexus 5 are

  • 2.3GHz quadcore Snapdragon 800 processor with Andreno 330GPU
  • 4.95 inch 1080p display with 445ppi pixel density
  • 2GB RAM
  • 16/32GB internal storage option with no microSD card slot
  • 8MP rear camera with LED flash, 1080p video recording @30fps and front facing 1.3MP camera
  • Android 4.4 KitKat
  • 2300mAh battery

The phone uses micro SIM and also supports wireless charging which is a cool feature. Another interesting addition to the new LG Nexus 5 is the introduction of the new Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for the ultimate screen protection. Although we still know that your phone screen might get few scratches while using it but it provides maximum resistance to the scratches.

8MP camera is not a high end camera like the Xperia Z1 or Samsung Galaxy S4, but it does a pretty decent job with a 1/3.2” sensor and an f/2.4 aperture. The LED flash also makes it easy to take good pictures in low light.

In the connectivity department, Nexus 5 has got what it takes. It has penta-band 3G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, A-GPS and NFC tags.

The most interesting part is the price of Nexus 5. With such great specs, the phone only costs $349 for 16GB and $400. Considering the unlocked price of a Samsung Galaxy S4 that goes above $500, Nexus 5 is awesome in this price tag.

Nexus 5 is available from Play Store unlocked in US, Canada, the UK, France, Germany, Spain and Italy in Europe, plus Australia, Japan and Korea.

Google Nexus 5 is really an amazing smartphone. But I have one complaint.
Why do these powerful smartphones don’t come with a powerful battery? With 2300 mAh battery, the phone won’t even last a full day with normal usage.
They should do something about it.
    What do you say?
